Mitch Sayre 1 With 6 Foundation Scholarship Nominations Due May 17th
The Mitch Sayre 1 with 6 Scholarship Foundation will be giving away its Second annual Scholarship to an Anderson High School Senior Athlete of the class of 2013. The foundation has a committee of nine individuals who knew Mitch and want to continue Mitch's legacy through this scholarship foundation. The scholarship will be awarded during the Spring Sports Awards in May to a deserving student-athlete who displays tremendous character values in honor of Mitch Sayre.
Recipient Qualifications
1. Recipient must a senior who is a Student – Athlete at Anderson High School with a GPA of 2.5 or greater.
2. A male or female athlete who participated at the varsity level for at least one season
3. Demonstrates tremendous courage, selflessness, determination, dedication, humbleness, caring attitude, and perseverance.
4. Have aspirations of attending college or continued education
5. Most importantly have the astounding ability to overcome adversity. Whether they have overcame adversity in the past to get where they are today, or are overcoming adversity still today.

ABBY BERNASCO
SOFTBALL Abby Bernasco is a freshman starting catcher for the softball team. She returned last week after missing ten games due to an injury. She hit .412, including a home run with five RBI's, and scoring three runs in three games which all led to victories for the Redskins. |

EVAN SPANGLER
TRACK & FIELD Evan Spangler is a junior and a varsity thrower on the track team. He recently set a meet record at the Kings Invitational in the Discus with a throw of 158'6". Evan is one of the top discus throwers in the region and has his eyes on a league championship and maybe a shot at the state meet in Columbus. |
Evan Spangler Sets New Meet Record in Discus
Evan Spangler, a junior at Anderson, set a new meet record at Kings High School on May 7, 2013 in the discus with a throw of 158'6". Earlier this season, Evan
set the meet record at the Anderson Invitational.
